Pond restoration work
In 2011, Fleet Town Council undertook major restoration work to the pond at Oakley Park
Santa’s Grotto
The Oakley Park pavilion is turned into Santa’s Grotto at our annual Christmas event for children
Work parties
One of the features of the Friends’ work is regular work parties throughout the year, to keep the park in good condition
Pavilion garden
In 2011, the Friends created a small garden beside the pavilion, which our volunteers to continue to maintain for the benefit of everyone
Climbing boulders
Our climbing boulders are some of several pieces of equipment we have for older children in the park
Dipping pond
Our pond has a pond dipping platform, and an interpretation board to help you identify the creatures you might find in the pond
Woodland
Oakley Park’s three-acre woodland has a diverse wildlife including a protected species of bats and a variety of birds, reptiles, foxes and squirrels
Fungi display
A magnificent display of fungi in our woodland, a designated Site of Importance for Nature Conservation (SINC)
Bat walk
One of our objectives is to encourage children’s interest in learning about the natural world. Here we are at the start of a bat walk, led by an expert from Hampshire Bat Trust
